The Cache Community Food Pantry and The American West Heritage Center are joining forces through a joint fundraising effort to raise money and awareness of these foundational organizations in Cache Valley.
This is the first of its kind BBQ Smokeout Competition held in Northern Utah.
All food safety rules and regulations must be adhered to at all times for Competitors. This means that there are special requirements for each Pit team to have the proper permits: Temporary Food Establishments Permits and Food Handlers Permits.
The Bear River Health Department and event organizers will require each team to have a Temporary Food Establishment Permit on hand. The cost is $30 and is the responsibility of each team.
At least one member of the pit team must hold a current food handlers permit issued by the Bear River Health Department.
Pit Team registration is available now! Contestants will compete in two categories, Chicken Thighs, and Ribs, with all the meat to be provided by JBS.
Do you make the best BBQ in Cache Valley?
Judged awards and People's Choice awards.
The competition will run in conjunction with the American West Heritage Center Pioneer Day Festival. The public is welcome!

The Cache Community Food Pantry is a community partnership, and our goal and mission is to ensure that no individual in Cache County goes to bed hungry. Direct financial contributions provide the most flexibility for the CCFP to meet the needs of the community by filling in food gaps.
We strive to treat our clients with respect and dignity, and know that to need help feeding one’s family, is a difficult situation. We believe in emergency assistance today for self-sufficiency tomorrow.
The American West Heritage Center sits at the foot of the majestic Wellsville Mountains on U.S. Highway 89/91 in Cache Valley, Utah, the most scenic route to Jackson Hole, WY, and Yellowstone National Park, and just 70 miles north of Salt Lake City.
Our mission is to create an educational & entertaining environment that inspires our patrons to learn, live, and celebrate the American West Heritage by exploring the diverse cultures that shaped the Cache Valley and surrounding region from 1820 to 1920.
